Watch the talented Lena strike poses for you to sketch your original pieces. Just like in a traditional figure drawing class, each pose will be timed, giving you only a limited amount of time to sketch it. Let your imagination run wild as you capture Lena's mystical capabilities on paper! We will have very limited drawing boards, paper and charcoal, so please bring your own drawing pencils and sketchpad! Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind opportunity! See you there!
All skill levels welcome
Madame Wang’s screening at MutMuz Gallery
Madame Wang’s comes to MutMuz Gallery for one revolutionary night only! Don’t miss the incredibly out-of-print (and never commercially released theatrically or on US home video) LA Chinatown Punk weirdo-comedic masterpiece by legendary director/Warhol collaborator Paul Morrissey (Flesh for Frankenstein, Chelsea Girls).
The madcap bad-taste tale of a masochistic East German rebel spy who jumps ship in LA to find Jane Fonda and recruit her to the Communist cause… Our hero Lutz is sidelined by a weird new wave world of swap meeters, squatters, junk traders, doorknob lickers and sex workers and starts spiraling toward the American dream: auditioning for a spot in the Chinatown punk scene.
Featuring performances by Phranc and The Mentors and an eccentric cast including trans activist Virginia Prince.
Special thanks to Vinegar Syndrome and Elizabeth Purchell
TOMATÂ at MutMuz Gallery
Friday August 15, MutMuz Gallery shows the multimedia artworks and world of the incomparable Tomatâ du Plenty in TOMATÂ.
Best known as the frontman of The Screamers and a trailblazer in underground performance art, Tomatâ’s artwork is a rare treasure to see in person.
The show features his colorful multimedia paintings on wood and works on paper, plus photos and all kinds of ephemera from his world. It’s a skinny dip into the ocean of creative chaos and magic that made Tomatâ such a unique force.
Whether a longtime Screamers devotee or you’re just discovering his brilliance for the first time, this show is not to be missed!!! Thank you to all who have lovingly contributed to this special show.
This show is free and will be on view until September 15.
